TRILLA Writes: TV Reality Shows Are To Some Extent “Bogus”: Freda Rhymz Wins MTN Hitmaker 6 So What Next? Is She Joining The Bus Of Koo Ntakra And Naterial Or That Of Kidi And Kurl Songx?

Last year I expressed my disappointments in many TV reality shows, you can call it a tirade because I did not see the benefits winners and runner ups get from them and I still maintain my stance to some extent. I have always enjoyed these numerous TV Reality Shows as a viewer but haven’t even crossed my mind to be a part of them.

They do not have any enormous impact on the winners and runner ups so I do not see the need to be part of them. What really pushes me to be at rage is the semi-torture they put the winners and runner ups through. In advertising the show, the organizers will state emphatically what the winners will go home with but will do otherwise after the show.

I was close to some of these victims so I know all these deceitful stuffs which is very inimical to the winners and the runner ups. Why advertise the benefits that will be derived from the show and then keep doing “long tins” with the prizes that you have to give out.

There have been instances where winners have to be chasing their prizes that they have merited through their dint of hardwork…what kind of nonsense is that? Sometimes the prizes accorded to the winners in the advertisements do not really manifest…Who the hell will know of these things and will still want to be a part of a sugarcoated scam? That person must be deranged I guess. If some of these rots are not exposed, the organizers will keep making money of these shows putting the winners and runners in an uncomfortable position.

What I don’t know is what the organizers tell the winners and runner ups in the “tossing” or for the want of a better word “the back and forth” period for them to be mute on these issues. Those who go through all these horrendous moments do not come out to expose these rots. “Ah Well make I go ma front 333…..when it is coming, it is doing”

At this juncture let me switch to MTN Hitmaker which has been running for a while now due to its audience appeal and more. First and foremost let me commend the organizers of the MTN Hitmaker because it is not a child’s play to be consistent in whatever you do.

We have seen winners of this reality show excel whiles others also vanished into thin air…that shouldn’t be the case. Then what is the essence of the hitmaker? From my perspective, every winner if not the runner ups must make it big in the music industry but what have we witnessed over the past years. Flop upon flop, Naterial, Koo Ntakra where are they, sad huh? I guess they are hitmakers underground…am I being sarcastic, maybe or maybe not.

However in recent times, there has been a transformation in the sense that now the spotlight is on the winners of MTN Hitmaker. Kidi and Kurl Songx are now making waves and they are products of MTN Hitmaker. Kuami Eugene who is also a product of this same competition is also making waves even though he was not a winner.

The moment you win without taken flight, you will be forgotten like you never existed because you are not relevant. This really saddens my heart and it puts the victims in devastating moments…hitmakers indeed.

Freda Rhymz broke the jinx by being the first female to emerge winner in MTN Hitmaker. Congratulations to her once again, she has opened the gates for other females. She has instilled confidence in other females who will want to partake in the competition. We have been following each other on Twitter for sometime now but I got to see her for the first time when she went for the audition and then I ascertained she was a good rapper.

Due to her electrifying performance at the audition, I congratulated her on Twitter and even said I will provide her with a free beat of her choice. I guess many of us never envisioned she will emerge winner at the grand finale. I also congratulated her after her victory on Twitter.

Now the problem is will she be joining the bus that contains the likes of Koo Ntakra and Naterial or the bus that has the likes of Kidi and Kurl Songx. Well I see her to be very hyperactive, I don’t know whether it is because of her “tomboy” demeanour. I will be more gutted if she joins the losers’ bus first because she is the first female to win and secondly because she is an indefatigable talent, she spits fire…damn!!!

I don’t know what moves she is making now but I wish her all the best in her future endeavours. I hope organizers make her dreams a reality so she can also join the bus of winners.
